I write this on the eve of my 34th birthday. As I approach this birthday I am reflecting on my true desires. In the past I have set ‘to do’ lists, outlined what I will accomplish for the year, all the things I know I should be doing – whether external in nature or the inner work. This approach has always stirred up some angst, fear, and expectation. Sometimes, these ‘to do’s’ reach for the stars, leaving a feeling of let down when these don’t get accomplished. So maybe this year it is time to change the approach.
What if we allow our feelings to drive our goal setting?

We are not chasing the goal itself, but rather we are chasing a feeling. What if, first, we got clear on how we actually wanted to feel in our life, and then we laid out our intentions? What if your most desired feelings consciously informed how you plan your day, your year, your career, your holidays — your life? We will do much less proving and way more living.

This is a long a slow process, allowing my heart to be the leader – I’m feeling my way through. There should be no rush. We are always in a hurry to get to the next thing. As long as we find balance and stay the course, we will access our true core desires.
I intend for this process to be a whole year’s worth of gratitude, support, optimism, love and friendship.
Am I ready to share my desires with you all, no, not yet. This is a special process and I’m holding it dear to my heart.
Here’s t0 the year ahead.
