Yikes, I was attacked by a spiky foam roller – AKA devil horned roller. Yes, I should have known better, but at least my brain turned on when I went to the other leg and it said “Lady, you are crazy, this is going to hurt your little peach body”. So I stopped and now I don’t have a matching pair 😉

Sure this wouldn’t happen to your average Joe, but who ever said I was average? I’m very special, but instead of having amazing powers to save the world, I am a peach. I am sweet and I bruise easy. When I was in 8th grade I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease ITP (this is the short form, don’t want to bore you with too much ‘of the science stuff’). Essentially my body recognizes my platelets (clotting component of your blood) as foreign, attaches an antibody on them and off they go to get eaten by my immune system. This resulted in a year of treatment on various steroids and receiving platelets intravenously. My system was very adamant that it wanted to stay this way, so in a last ditch effort Dr’s decided to remove my garbage can. Bye, bye Stuart the spleen. You’d think this would do the trick, eh? Remove the garbage can, while the platelets are still tagged for destruction they have no place to go, so float around and carry out their normal activities they would. But no, here’s where the special part comes in, I have an accessory spleen. Yep a little gaffer that is about the size of a quarter. Luckily, he’s not as good of a garbage can as good ‘old Stuart so generally my platelets stay high enough that they don’t treat me regularly. What’s high for me well you should have a count of between 150-400K, I hover around 30K, but that’s better than 3K pre splenectomy.
So now you see why devil horned roller did that! Why am I telling you all this? It is now 4 wks after the attack and they are all gone. WOW, I know. How you ask? Well I found a miracle combination of essential oils and emu oil. Peeps, ordinarily I would still have gross bruises all over.
What did I use? Helichrysum and Geranium essential oils!
Just place a drop of Helichrysum on site, rub in, then a drop of Geranium and rub in. I then layered with Emu oil, for adding healing benefits, but to also act as a carrier oil.
Why Emu Oil?
Pure emu oil is great for treating fine lines, wrinkles, scars and stretch marks. Emu oil is a powerful transdermal agent that can penetrate deep into the skin, so its benefits don’t just effect the surface of the skin, but can actually aid the body at all levels. While Emu oil has many great benefits, I’ve been using it for its anti-inflammatory properties. Have sore muscles or suffer from arthritis? Give Emu oil a try 🙂
